OUR DOGS magazine - October 2008

I have had some very exciting news from Sean and Dawn Platts of Vallino Mastino. Sean and Dawn e-mailed to let us know that Brigante Le Grande Ombre, Nero, bred in the mother land, Naples, is now here on home turf. The pictures of young Nero included in the e-mail are fab - in one of the pictures a dwarfed Dawn is sitting next to a monstrous jet black head with an excellent expression smiling sweetly into the camera.

Dawn says that Nero has spent the last 6 months in France having his Pet Passport sorted out, he was initially collected from Naples by Sean who then drove him to Karen Treloar, ‘Homeward Bound’ home of Treloarneo Mastino, in France. Karen moved to France with her family in November 2007, and more recently has decided to offer fellow enthusiasts who would rather not use quarantine kennels the opportunity of utilising a Pet Passport Scheme. Nero was, for want of a better phrase, a guinea pig for Karen's scheme and, now that she has got to grips with all the paperwork and entire process, is happy to offer the scheme to our enthusiasts.

Karen lives about a 5 hour drive from Calais, (approx 2 hours from Cherbourg, Caen and Le Havre ports,) quite handy for visiting your dogs whilst in her care. She has many acres of land where the dogs can exercise freely and can socialise with Karen's own Mastini, horses, chickens, children and the English community Karen has befriended over there.

For those enthusiasts not previously acquainted with Karen, she is profoundly deaf and so correspondence over the telephone is not an option. Karen is happy to speak to anyone via email, or text.

I'm pretty sure Sean and Dawn will have her contact details or be happy to tell you more:
