Stick Injury

There is nothing a dog likes better than chasing and fetching and in most instances the first thing to hand is a stick or small branch. Do not allow him to play will anything that may get stuck in his mouth or throat! If he has something stuck he will start to retch and paw at his mouth, check immediately for any sign of an obtruction or foreign body.

If you see the object try and remove it gently, by flicking it forward and out of the mouth,taking care not to get bitten in the process, your dog will be in great distress, and will most likely be unable to control his reactions so once the object is removed ...remove you fingers quickly as his mouth will clamp shut!
